  • "Temenos" is an ancient Greek term denoting a sacred space designed for contemplation, ritual, ceremony, and connection. It serves as a demarcation between the ordinary and the sacred. In psychological terms, Temenos signifies a symbolic space within an individual's psyche, embodying a sacred inner realm conducive to personal growth, self-discovery, and transformation.

    This retreat embraces the symbolic essence of Temenos, establishing a space where men can gather, connect with themselves and their community, and delve into the timeless wisdom residing within the inner realms of the psyche and body.

  • This men’s retreat will create space for you to achieve your growth potential, expand your awareness, shed outdated thoughts and behavioural patterns, foster connection with self and others and allow you to redefine and embrace your masculinity.

    Through the use of conscious-connected breathing (breathwork) and holistic psychotherapy, this men's group breathwork retreat will support you to:

    -access a deeper understanding of self and your experience of life;
    -quiet the thinking mind (mental chatter) and access the wisdom of the subconscious mind and body;
    -gain new information and clarity about life;
    -release old and outdated stories about yourself and how you are in this world;
    -let go of held or 'hidden' physical, emotional and mental patterns and stories;
    -bring your heart, body and mind into alignment; and
    -access a deeper understanding of your spirituality.

    Transition Breath’s men’s groups are trauma-informed and apply holistic psychotherapy principles to every retreat. Holistic Breathwork is ideal for people experiencing mental health conditions such as chronic stress, anxiety and depression, processing trauma and wanting to find greater meaning and purpose in life.

  • This retreat will offer:

    • daily morning embodiment sessions;

    • four themed group breathwork sessions

    • contemplation and nature connection practices

    • sharing/yarning circles

    • organic vegetarian lunches and light refreshments

    • sacred tobacco ceremony (optional) and

    • post-retreat online Zoom check-in.

    To ensure adequate support is available to the participants, the group size will be limited.

  • The primary tool of self-exploration will be holistic breathwork, a unique and ancient technique, otherwise known as ‘conscious connected breathing’. Holistic Breathwork combines conscious connected breathing with mind-body awareness techniques, nurturing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Highlighting the transformative power of conscious breathing, it aims to ease stress, release tensions and emotional blockages, enhance awareness, embodiment, and personal growth. Tailored for mental health concerns like stress, anxiety and depression, it helps understand and release traumas while accessing inner wisdom and empowerment.

    Holistic Breathwork cultivates profound balance, harmony, and peace in the mind and body, presenting a holistic approach to self-discovery, personal growth and overall health.

  • Sacred tobacco, alternatively known as rapé (pronounced ha-peh), originates from South America. It is a powdered shamanic snuff made from Nicotiana Rustica, a type of tobacco also known as Mapacho. The tobacco plant is mixed with other medicine plants and sacred prayers, aligning each type of rapé with a specific purpose or intention. This form of tobacco is ingested through the nose, with the use of a utensil called a tepi, in a ceremonial setting.

    Rapé helps energetically clear the mind and body. Supporting the rebalancing of the body’s energy system, rapé induces a purification. This purification process may result in a clearing of mental energy or softening of the nervous system. In some cases, rapé may induce a purge or release of some kind (emotional release, tears or vomiting).

    Each rapé ceremony is held with intention. We honour the four directions, the Wisdom of the Heart and clear Vision.

    This rapé ceremony is an optional extra for those who feel called to working with sacred tobacco.
